Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
I am a stay-at-home-mom of two beautiful daughters, a preschooler and a baby, and wife to an incredibly loving husband. I spend quite a bit of time trying to find creative ways to both entertain and educate my oldest. I’m always on the look out for simple arts and crafts projects that will appeal to her. In time, I will be searching for young toddler crafts for the baby as well.
I believe in learning through exploration and art as a means of self expression. This means that although I choose the activities and offer instruction, it is up to my children to shape the experience. The goal is never a perfect, craft magazine worthy project. The goal is only that my children have fun and make discoveries about the world and themselves!
I also love baking, particularly cakes & cookies! I find happiness in both making sweets for my family to enjoy and sharing the art of baking with my daughter. My love of baking began at age nine when I decorated my first cake for a church picnic. I will never forget my “Jesus Loves You” cake! My passion for baking comes from my mother whose spirit I know is with me whenever I grab my mixer! Whenever I bake something that I’m particularly proud of, I can feel Mima’s smile of approval. Having my daughter by my side, spoon in hand, is a way to share my mother’s special memory with her.
